OZZY OSBOURNE:
Ozzy Osbourne began his career in music during the late ‘60s by forming
Black Sabbath with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. After numerous
hits such as “Paranoid” and “Iron Man” and releasing
several platinum albums Ozzy was fired from the band. He ventured to start
his solo project in 1978 and released his first self titled album in 1980 with
his band The Blizzard of Ozz under the direction of his new wife and manager
Sharon Osbourne. The more technically skilled band composed great hits such
as “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley” on this album and
quickly reached global recognition and success.
One of Ozzy’s most talked about moments was when a fan threw a bat (not
the type used in baseball) on stage and he bit its head off thinking it was
a fake. The show was canceled and Ozzy had to be rushed to the nearest hospital
to be treated with a rabies vaccination. Controversy broke and he was accused
of animal cruelty. Soon afterwards, his guitarist, Randy Rhoads, was killed
in a plane crash and the band’s success was brought to a standstill.
Ozzy has made several musical comebacks over the years, started the highly
recognized Ozzfest Tour, and starred in a reality television show with his
family on MTV. He has not only established himself as an international music
superstar and sold millions of records and concert tickets over the years,
but also has showcased his parenting skills to the world.
