ROD STEWART:

Rod Stewart, one of the most unforgettable voices in rock, began surfacing to rock stardom in the early 1960s by playing with artists like folk Singer Wizz Jones, Jimmy Powell & the Five Dimensions, Long John Baldry’s band, the Hoochi Coochie Men, Steampacket, Shotgun Express, and finally the Jeff Beck Group. By joining the famous Yardbirds’ guitarist Stewart revolutionized heavy blues-rock with his dynamic vocals. This influence became the format for the evolution of heavy metal. The group unfortunately fell apart in 1969.

Stewart proved he had a creative power of his own when he teamed up with Ron Wood in the band the Faces and later released his first solo album which blended his folk roots, R&B and rock influences. In 1971, Stewart released his third solo album “Every Picture Tells a Story” and reached number one in both the UK and the USA. While continuing to tour with the Faces during the early seventies, Stewart kept releasing solo records and eventually departed the group to pursue a more focused solo career.

Some of Rod Stewart’s most memorable albums during the seventies and eighties were Smiler, Atlantic Crossing, A Night on the Town, Foot Loose & Fancy Free, Blondes Have More Fun, Tonight I’m Yours, and Camouflage.
